PNEUMATIC NAILER MODELS P240 & P260

MAIN VALVE ASSEMBLY

A new valve assembly was gradually introduced in October 2006. Its main feature is that it no longer requires a screw to hold all components together - they simply snap into each other.

You can verify the date of manufacture of your tool to determine the type of valve assembly it's fitted with:

  • All P240 & P260 tool manufactured before October 2006
  • Some P240 nailers manufactured after October 2006 and before May 2007
  • All P240 & P260 tools manufactured since May 2007
  • Some P240 nailers manufactured since October 2006
  • Tools retro-fitted with the new valve
You can also do a visual check:
  • If you remove head cap P-501, you shall not be able to pull out the actuator head P-541, unless screw P-544B is broken.
  • If you open the head assembly, the screw P-544B will be visible.
  • The disk P-601A is snapped into head cap P-601. If you remove head cap P-601.
  • If you open the head assembly, you should be able to pull out the valve assembly (P-642+P-543+P -644).
  • There is no screw going through actuator cap P-644.
